彫刻刀による精緻な彫り仕事やミリ単位の加工精度を駆使して製作してきた職人集団。様々な木の性質に合わせて加工方法や寸法精度、使用部位を選択するという、単なる技術だけではなく、素材のクセをコントロールすることも木工技術の重要なポイントです。
Our team of craftsmen has long specialized in creating wooden products using detailed carving techniques with chisels and precision processing down to the millimeter.In woodworking, it's not only technical skill that matters—being able to control the natural quirks of the material is just as essential.Depending on the properties of each type of wood, we carefully choose the processing methods, dimensional tolerances, and which part of the material to use.This ability to adapt to the material’s nature is a key element of advanced woodworking.
Variety of Wood Material
多種多様な木材
一般的に家具などに使われる北米材 (オーク/ウォルナット/メープル/チェリー/アッシュ等)を始め、希少な"銘木”と呼ばれる木材を活用しています。銘木には花梨、黒檀、 緑檀、ウエンジ、欅、など様々な材種がありますが、その殆どがとても硬く、木目が詰まって重い材料です。それらの材種の性質に対応できる事が我々の強みです。
We work with a wide range of wood types, starting with commonly used North American hardwoods such as oak, walnut, maple, cherry, and ash.In addition, we also use rare and highly prized “meiboku” (notable woods), including species like padauk(karin), ebony, lignum vitae(ryokutan), wenge, and Japanese zelkova(keyaki).These meiboku are generally extremely hard, with tight grain and high density, making them heavy and difficult to process.Our strength lies in the ability to skillfully handle these challenging materials and bring out their full potential.
